As part of the unified campus security policy, VVSU has a well-established, modern system of organizational and preventive measures: new equipment is constantly being purchased, exercises and trainings are conducted, as well as explanatory work among staff and students.
Fire safety is supported by the latest fire protection systems:
- fire detection, warning and evacuation management systems in case of fire;
- smoke protection systems;
- systems of collective protection of people from fire hazards;
- primary fire extinguishing means.
Evacuation plans are posted in prominent places in buildings in the event of a fire. A "Fire Safety Manual" has been developed for students living in VVSU dormitories.
The university has created a comprehensive system of access and intra-facility modes.
To enhance the effectiveness of monitoring the situation on the VVSU campus, a Video Surveillance Center has been established, which includes more than 1,000 modern video cameras installed on the campus and in the main building of the university. All records are archived for a month. In the event of an incident, it is always possible to identify the perpetrator from these archived records.
Entrance to the university and dormitories is carried out using an employee's or student's identification plastic card (IPC) through the turnstiles.
In case of an emergency, the partition of these turnstiles is lowered and does not block the escape routes. In addition, the turnstile has a built-in contactless reading system, so there is no need to take the identification plastic card out of your purse. All information about visitors (who entered the building and when) is archived.
