A project of a research and development (R&D) center was presented at VVSU, where manufacturers will be able to develop and test long-shelf-life ready meals. The meeting gathered about 70 representatives of Far Eastern businesses, government bodies, and scientific institutions.
The initiative belongs to "Pacific Real Package," a resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok, with support from the Primorsky branch of "OPORA Russia." Participants discussed developing private label products and launching test batches without building separate facilities.
The center uses gentle heat treatment in soft packaging, allowing food to be stored for up to two years at room temperature without preservatives. Potential users include producers of ready-made food, retail chains, and hospitality enterprises.
In addition to production tasks, the facility will serve as an equipment showroom and a training hub for students. The Institute of Tourism and Creative Industries of VVSU already plays a key role in specialist training across its programs. Since 2023, VVSU has also served as the base organization for the regional educational cluster "Tourism and Service Sector," possessing extensive resources such as restaurant complexes and specialized laboratories.
At the new site, students will upgrade their qualifications using world-class equipment, while educational institutions will conduct scientific research for the food industry.
