Foreign students at the VVSU Institute for Training Foreign Citizens have completed their preparatory program for higher education at Vladivostok State University. Throughout the year, they actively studied Russian language, history, and culture, alongside core subjects like mathematics, physics, informatics, and English.
The day has come when all graduates gathered to recall happy academic moments and express gratitude to the institute's staff. Victoria Soleinik, Head of the Institute, congratulated the listeners on this new stage — future university admission — and awarded letters of appreciation to the most distinguished students.
Throughout the year, attendees from China, Mozambique, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Nigeria, North Korea, Laos, Sudan, DR Congo, and Guinea-Bissau participated in numerous contests, concerts, and competitions. They won prizes at the "I Study in Russia" international festival and the "Starry Autumn" amateur arts festival, even giving interviews on Primorsky television.
A significant contribution to the graduation event was made by Marina Trokhovtseva, who prepared the concert script and co-hosted it with talented students from North Korea, Cho Yong Hwa and Pak Song Ir. During the ceremony, foreign students recalled bright moments captured in the film "Our Life." In a showcase of their skills, Ruthe Magalhaes from Mozambique and Han Gym Ir from North Korea recited Iosif Utkin's poem, while a Korean quartet performed the folk song "Kon" Jessica Fokisa (Mozambique) read Novella Matveeva's "Koshka", Gloria Olutayo (Nigeria) received thunderous applause for "Pozvoni mne, pozvoni", and Lee Hyon Nam (Korea) led the entire hall in singing "Podmoskovnye Vechera."
In conclusion, everyone sang the patriotic anthem "I, You, He, She, Together We Are One Country." Each student then took the open microphone to thank their teachers and present them with flowers. In response, the entire institute staff went on stage to sing Stas Namin's beloved classic "We Wish You Happiness."
