Foreign Students of VVSU Read Poems by Alexander Pushkin on Russian Language Day
On June 6, a double celebration was marked at the Primorsky Regional Public Library named after A.M. Gorky – Pushkin Day and Russian Language Day. Foreign students from the Institute of Pedagogy and Linguistics of VVSU and the Institute for Training Foreign Citizens read works by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.

The poems of the great Russian poet were recited by
Zhou Yue and Tang Shujian (China);
Magalhaes Rute Jose Alice (Mozambique);
Olutayo Gloria Oluwayemisi (Nigeria);
Mohamed Ismail Musa Ahmed (Sudan);
Omar Hamed (Egypt).

"The Russian language is the foundation of our culture. We love our poets and writers. For most foreigners, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin is a symbol of our country. Reading his works on Russian Language Day, which is also the poet's birthday, is a good tradition.

Foreign students like Pushkin's poetry – it is understandable and beautiful, easy to memorize. Even if for some reason a foreigner forgets the language, they will never forget the poem. And over time, this interest in poetry does not diminish.
We are proud of our foreign students who win declamation contests, carrying within them the spark of Russian culture," shared Yulia Konovalova, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Linguistics.
