A delegation from VVSU (Vladivostok State University) conducted career guidance meetings at schools in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The university staff visited the Celestial Kingdom as part of the cross-years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education.
The delegation visited four schools within the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. The visit, organized with the participation of Victoria Soleinik, Head of the Institute for Training Foreign Citizens, and Irina Akisheva, Leading Specialist of the Department of International and Cultural Activities, was aimed at strengthening educational ties between the states. Such cooperation opens up new opportunities for academic exchanges and underscores the priority of working with Chinese applicants.
"The delegation's route covered educational institutions with which the university has a long-standing partnership history. The list of visited schools included: Secondary School No. 1 of Jungar-Qi, Secondary School No. 6 of the city of Baotou, Secondary School No. 3 of Linhe District in Bayan Nur, as well as Secondary School No. 8 of Nayman-Qi in Tongliao City. It is important to note that the cooperation between our university and the aforementioned schools has been ongoing for eight years now, during which time a stable system for preparing future students has been formed," explained Irina Akisheva.
In all the schools, Chinese schoolchildren have been studying the Russian language for three years, which creates a solid foundation for further obtaining higher education in Russia. The program of the visit at each educational institution was rich and included three key blocks. The first stage consisted of official meetings with the school administration, during which the parties discussed possible formats for admitting graduates to VVSU, including enrollment conditions and adaptation of first-year students.
"Open lessons on the Russian language and culture were of particular interest: representatives of the university not only introduced the students to the intricacies of the language but also told them about the traditions and modern life of Russia. The culmination of the meetings was gatherings with students and their parents, where a presentation of VVSU's educational programs took place. Schoolchildren and their families received comprehensive information about areas of study, tuition costs, possibilities for obtaining scholarships, and prospects for living on campus," said Victoria Soleinik.
Such career guidance trips are especially relevant in the context of the cross-years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in education, as they lay the foundation for future academic success. The university expresses its gratitude to its Chinese partners for the warm reception and hopes for further expansion of cooperation.
