On the eve of Cosmonautics Day, the Winter Garden at VVSU hosted an interactive event organized by the creative team «Status». Guests were invited to embark on a real «space journey».
Participants could visit quest stations, test their knowledge of the history of space exploration and the biographies of pioneering cosmonauts. Everyone had the chance to try their hand at building their own rocket and experience a space g-force simulator. Step by step, guests explored the vastness of space right within the university walls. In the lobby, a themed star-themed photo zone was set up, becoming a popular spot for those looking to capture a memorable social media post.
Aleksey Busygin, Head of the Youth Policy Department at VVSU, noted that the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight is not just a date, but a symbol of scientific and human triumph. He emphasized that the university instills in students a drive for scientific and professional achievement. He added that everyone remembers how the flight of their compatriot opened the door to the stars for humanity and forever inscribed the country into world history. This achievement continues to inspire new generations of researchers and dreamers, preserving the continuity of many generations.
Cosmonautics Day is a worldwide holiday dedicated to the first-ever human spaceflight. On this day, people commemorate Yuri Gagarin’s historic flight on April 12, 1961, and celebrate the pioneering achievements in the exploration of the Universe.
