The Vladivostok State University (VVSU) hosted a sold-out gala concert of the international youth festival for foreign students “I Study in Russia”. The event, organized by the university's Youth Policy Department, took place at the International Linguistic School (ILS) and brought together talented students from around the world studying in the Far East.
The festival was officially opened by Tatiana Terenteva, Rector of VVSU and Doctor of Economic Sciences. In her welcoming speech, she emphasized the importance of such events, especially in challenging times, as they allow participants to truly understand Russia — its rich, multifaceted culture, history, and traditions — beyond stereotypes.
The festival featured over a hundred creative performances, including theatre, music, dance, poetry, photography, and original genres. The repertoire ranged from Soviet bard songs and wartime classics to modern Russian hits. Students from the Institute of Pedagogy and Linguistics and the Institute for the Training of Foreign Citizens represented the host university.
Participants included foreign students, listeners, and schoolchildren from VVSU, Far Eastern Federal University, Pacific State Medical University, and ILS. The expert jury evaluated professionalism, performance skills, and expressiveness throughout the day.
