From October, 15th up to October, 19th VSUES teaching staff – Galina Gomilevskaya (department of tourism, hotel and restaurant business), Lyudmila Matveeva and Oksana Ustimenko (department of health and fitness) took part in the Fifth Russian and Chinese forum “International education in tourism industry: new opportunities for expansion of Russian and Chinese cooperation”.
The forum was held at two premises – in Vladivostok and Suifenhe. It was organized in the form of the following theme-based meetings:
- Experience of development of international educational programs in tourism and hospitality industry both in Russia and in China;
- Importance of continuous education in tourism for building-up professional competences;
- Academic mobility of students and teachers for supporting quality of tourist education;
- Significance of tourist education for development of near-border tourism and cross-culture interaction between Russia and China;
- Efficiency enhancement in development of near-border cooperation in tourism between Russia and China.
There was an interesting program of meetings in China. It included a round-table conference in tourism development, meeting with the mayor of Suifenhe city, participation in a master-class “Excursion program in Suifenhe” and in the International youth festival “Dialogue of cultures”.
