Prime minister of Great Britain thanked VSUES volunteers for their work at the Olympic and Paralympic Games

Thank-you letters addressed to the three volunteers from VSUES – Karina Subbotina, Elena Katrichenko and Yury Papakha came this week from Great Britain. They were signed by the prime minister of the country David Cameron. These students were among the so called “Golden hundred” of the “Sochi 2014” volunteers and this summer they had the opportunity to go to London in order to service at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

David Cameron wrote that the volunteers helped conduct such a grand event as the Games and thanks to them millions of people throughout the world would remember the Olympics and Paralympics for life.

Elena Katrichenko said that the thank-you letter was a pleasant surprise to her.

- People were taking care about our well-being in London all the time and even after some time had passed we were not forgotten. I also keep on remembering the Olympic Games, their unforgettable atmosphere and those important events that took place there. It is very important to us that the volunteers’ work was properly appreciated.

VSUES volunteers also remarked that the experience of work at the Olympics and Paralympics would be very useful for them at the Games in Sochi.
